Family Photo
We just got our family photo, so I thought I'd add it to the pile of pictures already up here. Nate is growing like crazy; the doctor said he's in the 90th percentile for weight, and 95th for length. The sumo-sized child is also learning how to hold his head up, but refuses to roll over quite yet. (I've even tried giving him doggy treats).
Ah. We've also trained Nate to use the remote control. He loves to hang out and channel surf.Until next time,
Jeremy

Newest Pics of the Li'l Guy
Nate just had his weigh-in today at the doctor's, at just over three weeks old. He wrecked the scale at 10 lbs 15 oz, a gain of 14 oz in this past week. If baby wrestling existed, I'd sign him up for the heavyweight division.
This first picture is Nate training for the Green Berets. He can camouflage on a pattern of multicoloured fluffy animals like no one else:

He might think it's a prison living with us, with that dorky hat, the bars and all:
The shirt reads "My dad's a geek." Say no more: (It must run in the family)

New Baby!
Finally, our new little package has arrived! Nathaniel Jeremy Olson was born today at 2:20pm at the Foothills Hospital here in Calgary. He rocked the scales weighing in at 9 lbs, 6 1/2 oz (4.37 kg) and measured 22.5" (57.15cm) long.
We were called in on Sunday afternoon, because the baby had already been cooking for a week too long, and our obstetrician decided that an induction would be the way to go. Shelyn received some Cervidil around 4:30pm to hopefully start the whole process, but no dice.
Early the next morning, the nurse decided to break the bag of waters and put her on an IV drip with some oxytocin to get things really started.
At about 2:00pm, the baby decided he was ready to give life a chance, and showed up shortly thereafter. We are so excited to have him in our family.
Here is a video of Li'l Nate right after birth. He's kinda cute.
And again, here's the little buddy when he's sleeping at home. He loves to have his arms up in some kind of egyptian pose when he's sleeping. Also, if you listen carefully, you can hear him "sing" at around 12-13 seconds in the video:
Cheers. More pics coming soon!

29 weeks and counting...
This baby has its own weather system! It's huge!
When Shelyn was starting to show, people were uneasy when asking if she was pregnant, (it can get messy if you ask someone who isn't...), now we have a new predicament. People ask her if she is having twins, which in my opinion, is just as dangerous. I guess the baby just rides a little higher so Shelyn's belly sticks out a bit more.
We are excited for li'l Skeletor (that's what the ultrasound made the baby look like). It won't be much longer now...
